FOR SALE

Glenmar's Destiny

Destiny came to us in October of 2006 at only 4 1/2 months old.  She was advertised for sale on our local radio program called Coffee Chat where people can call in things they have for sale.  I usually don’t listen to the program but one day I got calls from everyone who knew I had foxtrotters telling me there was a foxtrotter on there.  This was pretty unusual because there are really very few foxtrotters in Virginia.  And the seller was actually close by.  The story I was given by the seller was that the breeder was moving and had to sell her horses.  She had this filly’s mother sold but the buyers didn’t want the foal.  So she weaned her at only 6 weeks old and convinced this lady to buy her.  This lady put her on powdered milk mixed with her grain for a while.  She really didn’t have any use for this filly since she only had miniature horses.  So she was selling her.

I was a little worried that she may be stunted from weaning so early but at 3 years old now, she is a good 15 hands and still growing.  One of the things I have learned about these foxtrotters is that they go through a big growth spurt between 3 and 5 years old.  At least most of mine have.

Destiny at 2 years old

She has some pretty impressive horses in her pedigree and a lot of them are very old bloodlines up close.  To name a few, there is Zane’s Knight Rider S., Toddy’s Perfection, Missouri Traveler E.  and of course, Zane Grey top and bottom.

She turned out to be a very elegant, classy looking mare and is almost identical is looks and size to my mare Lady.

She’s on the short-list to get trained this Spring, so hopefully we will have her fully trained and ready to sell by the first of Summer 2010.

Destiny has already been DNA’d and qualifies for the Foundation Foxtrotter Heritage Association with a v factor of V-123.
