OBSTACLE COURSE CHALLENGE

On June 5th, 2010, Glenmar Farms will be hosting our first Obstacle Course Challenge to benefit the Nottoway County “Stirrup-Some Fun” 4-H Horse Club.
This event has been designed to offer something for riders of all levels. We will have 3 divisions. Youth, Novice/Amateur and Open. Each Course will contain obstacles normally seen in Trail classes and also ones you could encounter out on a real Trail ride. The difficulty of each obstacle will be in relationship to the particular Division. Examples of possible obstacles would be crossing bridges, going through water, backing, sidepassing, opening gates, dragging stuff etc.
This event is not an “Extreme Cowboy Race” type of event. We are looking for horses and riders to demonstate their ability to navigate the course in a safe, controlled, timely manner within a set time period. Excessive speed and recklessness will be pentalized.
Entries must be received by May 23, 2010 to get the $2/entry pre-registration discount.
