Boarding
- January 1st, 2010
In 2007 we started offering horse boarding at Glenmar Farms. We are conveniently located only 50 miles west of Richmond, Virginia and 30 miles east of Farmville. We are within an hour’s drive of 7 state parks and numerous wildlife management areas offering approximately 100 miles of riding trails and camping facilities.
We also provide, for our boarder’s use, a regulation size (120′ x 240′) riding arena with lights for night time riding and a 60′ round pen.
We have an extensive obstacle course set up to accustom your horse to many of the obstacles you will incur on a trail ride and a few you probably never will!
We have several boarding options ranging from pastures with shelters and water to complete stall board. Our facility is designed to give horses a safe and peaceful environment where they have access to plenty of sunshine, pasture and room to exercise. Each horse has their own private lot with a 12×12 stall so they don’t have to compete for their feed or risk getting kiced and bitten by a more aggressive horse. Our grass paddocks range in size from 1/4 acre to 2 acres. We also have smaller dirt lots attached to the barn for horses that can not be out on pasture.

I wanted to thank Marilyn, Glenn, and Bobby for training and caring for my horse. They did a great job with her (and with me!). They don’t just train the horse; they train the owner so that you’ll continue the work when the horse goes home again. I appreciate that most of the methods used are Clinton Anderson’s, and those that aren’t CA are still very effective. The price is right, the facility is good, and the people are friendly. There’s even an obstacle course to practice your skills, as well as a large arena and a round pen. Thanks, again, everyone. I’ll be back in the future for more!
